Cats Return to the Colorado Legislature

We believe all lost cats should be given a chance to be reunited with their owners. Because cats don’t carry wallets or purses (at least not yet), the quickest and most inexpensive way to identify lost cats and return them to their families is to require that they wear tags or get microchip ID implants.

Keep Cats with Their FamiliesFor a small investment, owners get a lifetime of love filled with purrs and companionship. This investment also helps reduce the substantial burden that Colorado’s animal shelters shoulder in caring for and re-homing thousands of lost cats each year.

In addition to supporting legislation for cats, we expect to see several animal bills introduced in the Colorado State Legislature during the 2010 legislative session. Efforts to prevent animal cruelty and measures to compensate new pet owners who are sold ill pets will be on our must watch list in the coming year.
